Clutter is Like Weeds in a Garden

Spring is here, and just like weeds in a garden, clutter has a way of creeping into our homes when we’re not paying attention. It drains our energy, steals our time, and takes over the things in our lives and homes that we want to see thrive - like weeds do. But just like pulling weeds, a little effort now can make a huge difference!

I spent this past weekend doing a big declutter—at least big for me. Over the winter, we accumulated so much stuff. Toys, crafts, random little things that just found their way into the house. And of course, my kids have outgrown a ton! I went through clothes, winter gear, and all those little bits and pieces that seem to multiply when no one’s looking.

Next up? Helping my 13-year-old son go through his room. Normally, he’s good to go, but this year, he’s not just outgrown clothes—he’s grown so much as a person. He’s moving past certain interests, and I can tell it’s time to update his space to match who he is now. I’m excited to help him clear out what no longer fits so his room can feel more like him again.

If you’re in the same boat, dealing with outgrown kid stuff or just trying to get ahead of the spring clutter before it takes over, I’ve got some helpful resources for you!

Quick Question...

I have a local friend who makes all non-toxic home and skin care products...

Laundry soap, hand sanitizer, all-purpose cleaner, skin care, shampoo, conditioner.

She asked if I wanted to wholesale her products since I tell everyone about her all the time anyway..

If I did that would you be interested? You can check her out here. Pretty much everything in our home is made by her now, and I love it.

She literally grows the roses, lavender and mint in her backyard right down the street from me to make her products smell so good.

Just reply to this and let me know!

Quick Win of the Week

If your outdoor spaces, garage, or storage areas are feeling cluttered, this quick decluttering win is for you! In just 20-30 minutes, you can clear out broken toys, unused seasonal items, and general trash to make your space feel lighter and more functional. Here’s how:

Step 1: Toss the Trash First (10 Minutes)

  • Grab a trash bag and set a 10-minute timer.
  • Walk through your garage, porch, driveway, and backyard looking for obvious trash—broken tools, rusted-out plant pots, empty bags of soil, expired car fluids, etc.
  • Don’t overthink it—if it’s damaged, expired, or useless, toss it!
  • Bonus: Give the area a quick sweep or hose down for an instant refresh.

Step 2: Donate Unused Seasonal Items (10 Minutes)

  • Think back to what you actually used this past winter—sleds, holiday decorations, outdoor lights, etc. If something stayed in storage all season long, it’s time to let it go.
  • Grab a box or bag and collect anything you didn’t use or don’t love anymore.
  • Put it straight into your car so you can drop it off at a donation center on your next errand run.

Step 3: Sort Outdoor Toys (10 Minutes)

  • Grab a storage bin, trash bag, or donation box and head to your yard, garage, or wherever your kids’ outdoor toys are stored.
  • Look for cracked, broken, or sun-damaged toys—those go straight to the trash.
  • Pull out anything your kids haven’t played with in months or have outgrown. If it’s in good condition, set it aside for donation.
  • Wipe down or hose off the toys you’re keeping and organize them in one spot so they’re easy to access for playtime.

That’s it! In just 20-30 minutes, you’ve cleared out the unnecessary clutter and made room for what truly matters.
