Overwhelmed? Start here (and yes, it involves laundry…)

Clear Space, Clear Mind

I used to think I just needed to try harder, be more organized, or find a better cleaning routine. But no amount of storage bins or chore charts fixed the stress of too much stuff. What finally did? Decluttering.

If you’ve ever looked around at the toys on the floor, the dishes in the sink, and the never-ending laundry pile and thought, I just can’t keep up… what is wrong with me?—I need you to hear this: nothing is wrong with you.

A messy house isn’t a sign that you’re lazy or bad at this whole motherhood thing. It just means you’ve got a lot on your plate (which, let’s be real, is an understatement). So let’s drop the guilt and talk about what’s really going on—and how you can make things easier on yourself.

If any of that is ringing true for you, you'll love this blog and podcast episode:

I'm DONE feeling bad about the stuff, it's gotta GO!

If you’re at the point where you don’t want to organize it, sort it, or find a better storage solution—you just want it OUT—this is the post for you.

I’ve rounded up the absolute best decluttering tips for moms—not theories, but real strategies that actually work. We’re talking about quick wins, mindset shifts, and simple steps that make a HUGE difference. If you’re tired of shuffling clutter from one room to another and just want a home that feels lighter and easier to manage, you’re gonna love this one.

Read this for quick actionable steps to decluttering!

Decluttering quiets the noise

Clutter makes everything feel like an emergency when really, it’s just in the way. It’s why you feel like you’re always behind, always cleaning up, and never getting to the things that actually matter—like sitting down with your kids, taking a breath, or just feeling at peace in your own home.

Why I Love Growing My Own Food (And How You Can, Too!)

A few years ago, I thought growing my own food was way too complicated. I’d see other people’s gorgeous gardens and just assume they had some magical green thumb I didn’t. Plus, I just never really had a lot of space for it.

But then I actually tried it. And you know what? It’s so much easier than I thought. Even just a few minutes a day in the garden makes a difference, and honestly? It’s one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done. Food tastes better when you grow it yourself, my kids actually eat veggies they pick, and it just feels good to know I can provide fresh, healthy food for my family.

That’s why I love Grow-It-Yourself (GIY)—it takes all the guesswork out of gardening. If you’ve ever wanted to grow food but felt overwhelmed, this program gives you everything you need—step-by-step guidance, a super supportive community, and even 1:1 mentorship so you never have to figure it out alone.

If you’ve been thinking about starting a garden, this is your sign to go for it. Nicky Schauder was on the podcast recently and shared some of her best starter tips.

Or, if you're ready to just dive in you can get her full course here (HIGHLY recommend!): Grow It Yourself

And if you join, tell me what you’re growing—I want to hear all about it!

Quick Win of the Week

You know how it can feel like laundry is never-ending? Like it’s always lurking in the back of your mind, reminding you it’s not done? That’s because of something called the Zeigarnik Effect—your brain holds onto unfinished tasks, making them feel heavier than they actually are.

Here’s a simple fix: Wash, dry, put away—THEN start a new load.

When we leave baskets of clean laundry sitting around, our brain sees it as an unfinished task and won’t let it go. But when you commit to fully finishing one load before starting another, you break the cycle. Your brain relaxes, you feel more accomplished, and the laundry pile stops haunting you.

Try it this week and let me know if it helps! I promise, your brain (and your home) will feel so much lighter.
